 Purple thistles way up high
wave to me as I drive by...
along golden grain & corn fields
these illusive flowers catch my eyes
Around the turn & to my right
I spot a swallowtail butterfly so bright
whetting it's whistle in those purple thistles Â
The breezes flow above the road & make me
 wish that I could photograph this sight.
 No safe place to park or climb to
 capture forever a yellow butterfly's delight.  |

It was like  being inthe Twilight Zone, rb I can almosrt hear the music playing their  theme song. It would have been appropriate.
WHat happened in court was like on TV...the lady sat ther & Â  lied about everything she could think of. SHe told the judge I Â never stopped & caused her to swerve & jam on he brakes & things in her car flew forward.
As I sat  & heard this, my adrenaline  went thru the roof. Luckily I took some "Calm" ( powdered magnesium ) before going in there.  It helped.
WHen I first entered the lobby the the officer & the lady were present, talking about some cases. I think the  woman  works in that area!  I though, great...
the officer came over to me & we went down the hall &  he said to stay calm &  let her tell her side of the story. I told him  i had stopped completely & took my time & used that intersection  several times a day & night & no  previous  problems.
I told him I had no idea why I was given a ticket. I was prepared...I took photos of everthing I  could think to show what it  was like on that street. PLUS my comments printed on each photo to support my innocence so the judge would know.
FIrst the lady said her piece..then the Judger  asked her how fast the was going.. she  replied about 30 MPH.  SHe just admitted to speeding!! 
THen it was my turn to ask her questions...
First... I showed my photos to the officer & Â judge.
Next... I asked if she knew what the speed limit was on Cocoa Ave.
She replied she didn't .. I told her it was 25MPH.
NExt... I asked if she were takig  any medication...to which she was  angry & asked what  did  that have to do with anything.. I said I had  a reason for asking. THe judge  told her to answer my  question yes or no. She said NO.
Next I mentioned the red &  white temp. disabled tag hanging from her  inside irror.. well she  get eve n madder  & interrupted me  & lost it at that point.

My reason to ask  was to see how she'd react   & that is what  the judge also saw & said he made up his mind &  said case is dismissed, got  up &  left teh room.!

I can't believe the woman was relying on emotional blackmail...
she left muttering  & I never did speak a word to her about anything!
I offered my had to the officer & we shook hands. THen I  turned around to the  other 2 officers present.. I  told them I was tossed our of a car  when @12 & it changed my life forever. AND  I don't lie! AND I was pres. of the Volvo CLub 13 years & promoted safety & maint. They were  nice to me & wished me luck.
I also said I hoped she wouldn t try to damage my car after this day!
Yes, it turned out well, rb & a relief. Thanks for your encoraging  thoughts. |

The Tiny Orange & Black Moth
THe sun was brightly shining & the day was really hot
when I spied a lovely orange & black object on the ground.
It was resting on the pavement by the water fountain so high above,
It was the not safest place to be when you are a tiny moth.
Maybe it was thirsty or worn out from all the heat...
so I offered it  some water on a dandylion I placed at it's feet.
It sat there just like before, so I photographed it first, then placed my hand beside it & it climbed right up ... and not the first!
After making friends with this pretty little creature, I took it on the lawn & let it sit on the blade of grass it grabbed to be upon.
The dandilion seems the peacemaker among the creatures small
when humans offer help to those who might need a hand, that's all. Â |
