I really dislike the non-phpBB software that you are using. It is extremely difficult to work with. It couldn't have been written to be less user-friendly code if the developer had been trying to. It is a real PITA to work on...

I imagine that if we all had access to a good IDE, then it may not be as difficult to work with. The problem is, I don't know if a good IDE exists for code like this. It really would be nice if Karlos would show up and let us know one way or another. If the tool exists, this might not be that bad. But without a good IDE, it is almost impossible to work on...

I know. I'd be better of learning Joomla than waiting for him though!

How hard would it be to learn Joomla? I don't know anything about it either...

LOL, well its open source software so I guess a lot of trial and error would happen at first but after a while you'd suss it out. I could propberly learn it well before karlos would show which is about 5 years time haha Wink

Could you use Joomla to meet your needs? It might be worth looking into it if so. The code might be a lot easier to follow than what you're using now...

I'm not sure but I'm going to look into it. I think the tricky bit would be setting up a few things up like being able to let members and djs edit their own profiles etc. I think if I use Joomla it'd be a case of me having to update profiles for them etc. If so then it wouldn't really work that good. I like What Karlos's script can do but like you say it's just to dam hard to follow. DAM YOU KARLOS! devil1

I've just uploaded Joomla and am going to see what it's all about now

Edit: do you know Joomla give you access to debuggers etc. If so I may be able to get help from you with this one and actually get somewhere with rather than keep fighting the dam things as we’ve done with karlos tricky script. I just would have through because Joomla has such a big development team they might provide tools etc

Ok just about to install it but getting a security check message http://www.danceairwaves.net/CMS/installation/index.php

I’ve change the setting from On to Off in the php.ini files but still keep getting the same message. Any idea's Blake?
