Ok, you probably weren't that far from getting it working. If you want to give up on it, that makes it easier for me...

Ok, one last time. Yes I'm a pain I know.
Uploaded it again and it's still showing to install the subPortal template. See screen shot below. I went through everything and changed the name to av8r-portal, so not sure why its not showing and subPortal is. SubPortal is the template I am currently using.
Edit- I'm going through and removing the hyphen because I think that is the problem |

Aussie, Blake has gone to bed and I know about 1/10 as much as you do about this stuff so it's like the blind leading the blind
.. but ...
I'm willing to bet that Template is still named subPortal in some vital place. I know how all those files can be confusing. You really need an editor that has the "replace all" feature. There are several simple and free ones. Try here:
http://www.thefreecountry.com/programming/searchandreplace.shtml
Read Blake's instructions once more:

I imagine that you are missing one of the main steps. If you have replaced the subPortal name with the av8r-portal name in your theme_info.cfg and renamed the subPortal.css and subPortal.cfg to av8r-portal.css and av8r-portal.cfg, and you have a templates/av8r-portal storing it all, you should be good to go, as long as all the other template files are present too...
|
At any rate since the installer seems willing to install it why don't you go ahead and see what you get?
Or did you already do that?

I was right. It was the hyphen that wouldn't allow it to work. Now all I have to do is fiddle with my new template |

One thing I found is that with the duplicated template is that I had to change some things in the CSS to match the orginal. The most noticeable was the background colour and the colour of the admin and moderator colours.
I might make a special Friday the 13th template. Green and black I think |

That's good to know. I'm really surprised that the hyphen was a problem...

Me too.
Ohh KeeKee, yes mine does too. I checked it after I read your reply. Ohh well, it gave me something to do.
One other thing I noticed is that with the Extreme Styles mod it allows you to clone a template. |
