Who matters,
Who never did,
Who won't anymore...
And who always will.
So, don't worry about people from your past,
there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

It has taken me more than six decades to reach the conclusion that the world's full of AH's and I want nothing to do with them, tee hee! Life's too short--or too long. If I only had to put up with these AH's for a short time more, I might could blow them off, but when you might live to be 85--No way, Jose! |

True. But then ... some that appear to be AHs really aren't and some are AHs though they don't appear to be. Ah the wisdom to know the difference.
I've always been one to cut people a lot of slack, make allowances for bad days or times in their life, make allowance for the hard row they've had to plow so to speak. We have to set limits though.
Ella, I hope your life is filled with true and worthy friends. I've heard if you have three good friends you can depend on in your life you are richly blessed.
I can honestly say I've been richly blessed.

Ha! I was mostly thinking of my youth and men, LOL! At this point in my old age, I can spot an AH several miles away and head in the other direction immediately. But Rosalie, you help so many people that no wonder you have so many friends. To have a friend, you must be a friend. |

Thanks Ella, but I doubt I do any more than the average person. I do have a lot of friends. Question is how many of them would be there when the going really gets tough?! I know I can count on at least three and for that I'm grateful.

Ah men! An entirely different type of creature. LOL You take what life gives you, shape him, form him, you push and pull, pat and smack, shove and mold ... and in the end you still have what life gave you. LOL If you're fortunate it's good! If you're fortunate AND lucky it's great!
I keep reading about more and more women skipping the man and marriage bit, going to a sperm bank and creating a family on their own.
Not for me, not my cup of tea.

Ha! Why a sperm bank, why not adopt instead? Or just go find a suitable donor of your own and get the baby by animal drive? Going to a sperm bank is about as exciting as a pay toilet in a diarrhea ward. E-ew! |

Lots of reasons I guess. Maybe some women just want to shop through a catalog rather than window shop. Designer jeans, designer water .... now designer babies? I've also read that many women AND couples, more than you would think, are too busy to even carry a child for 9 months (or can't) so they hire some lady over seas to do it for them. No really I kid you not!

Sick, sick, sick. Why not adopt a baby who is already alive--an African American baby or an Asian or other third world baby--who desperately needs a home? What's with all this surrogate mother stuff? I had one child because her father refused to adopt, even though that was what I really wanted due to concern about overpopulation. Then I told her father (my then husband) that I was never going through such agonizing pain again (labor and delivery) and that I wanted to adopt only for any more. He said no, that if I refused to furnish him with a son of his own, there would be no more children. I said fine with me and got myself sterilized. If a woman has a terribly rough pregnancy and excruciating pain during and after delivery and can't stand the thought of repeating such an agonizing ordeal, any man who insists she do so should have to be the surrogate, if they could come up with a way. That would cool their fire! |
